What does the Skill depend on in poker?

In order to calculate the Skill Poker Index it is necessary, first of all, to understand what they depend on. By analyzing the above, it is possible to conclude that they depend on two main factors: 1. the quality of the information acquired in the various stages of the spot; 2. the ability of the player to perceive, understand, process and interpret the information acquired, translating it into the best strategies to eliminate the opponents by appropriating their stacks.

The weight of stack size on your abilities.

From a more in-depth analysis it is possible to realize that the only knowledge of the most advanced strategies aren’t enough to face the dynamics of a tournament. It happens systematically, in fact, that although you have the best tactical knowledge, you are unable to practice them, as a result of the fact that you do not have enough stack available to apply them. Depending on the number of mistakes made during the competitive session, the progressive increase in the level of blinds, corresponding to the progressive increase in difficulty, will put each athlete to find himself short stacked in the advanced stages of the tournament.

Results of the analysis

From the analysis so far produced it can be deduced that skills depend on two distinct main factors, but deeply interdependent: 1. Acquired information; 2. Stack size. By definition, therefore, it is reasonably considered that the progressive acquisition of information in the four phases of a spot allows to identify strategies useful to the success of the spot, while the size of the stack allows to measure the degree of applicability of the skills identified.
