Empirical poker Texas Hold’em tournament Invitation
Hi,
this invitation is addressed to both professional and non-professional poker players, insiders and press professionals of the Texas Hold’em live poker industry.
My name is Pietro Semeraro and for my Dissertation, held last May 05 2021, I presented as a topic our beloved Texas Hold’em poker. I graduated in Communication Sciences, with major in Social Web Analysis and Digital & Content Marketing.
Thanks to the theories of micro-communication, learned during the academic course, I had the opportunity to reprocess the “Theory of poker” by David Sklansky and the “Utility” concept by Arnold Snyder according to a new perspective, developing a new theory, with which I have elaborated the “Skill Poker Index”, which are modulators of the padia and ludus components – in favor of the latter – that are intrinsic to any game or sport that we know
What this is about
In summary, padia means the component that has as a feature of the game the randomness of the outcome of the game itself; in fact, it doesn’t require any particular skill or commitment from participants, leaving the outcome, positive or negative in the game/ performance, totally to fate. Ludus is the component of the game that, on the contrary, requires commitment and skills from the participants in order to decide the fate of the game/ performance. According to a recent study on the live poker industry, in Italy, it’s been established that the opening or closing of Texas Hold’em poker card rooms depends on the exclusive prerogative of the Quaestors and on their cultural heritage that causes the leopard spot openings all over the national territory.The application of the Skill Index on a tournament’s structure Pro level, would allow to fix a universalistic-deterministic reference to the service of the Institutions and to become, potentially, the ultimate solution to the regulation of discipline and of the whole industry, opening up to a prosperous new era for all stakeholders, under the patronage of CONI.
Why I need your help
After the theoretical phase of my scientific study, I need it to perform the actual experimental phase and that’s the reason why I ask you to kindly feel in the application form you can find right below, to propose your candidature to take part of the the empirical tournament’s field that will result in a freeroll tournament with a prize pool made available by the organization and for charity destination. Together we will discover how the Skill Poker Index can make a difference in a real live experience and you will be among the protagonists of a research that will remain forever in the literary archives of the historical culture of our discipline.
